Cathy joined Middlefield in Toronto as a fund administrator in 2005. Over the years, she has been promoted to positions of increasing responsibility, from financial accounting and tax reporting, and is now supporting trading operations. Cathy was part of a team that established Middlefield’s presence in Western Canada and has been working from Calgary, Alberta since 2010.
Cathy is a CPA, CGA and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of the Philippines and a Master of Public Administration (Tax Program) degree from the Graduate School of Policy Science in Japan. Prior to immigrating to Canada, she worked as a Revenue Officer responsible for auditing large taxpayers at the national tax agency in her home country.
As a way of giving back to the community, Cathy volunteers as a Tax Preparer with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) and has been doing this for over 10 years. Additionally, she has also served as a volunteer Treasurer of two registered Canadian charities.
