Dean Orrico joined Middlefield in 1996 and brings over 30 years of investment experience to his role as President and Chief Executive Officer. A respected member within the investment management community, Dean has spent much of his career educating financial advisors on capital market trends and developments in Canada and internationally.
He is deeply committed to excellence and integrity in funds management and is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and global expansion of the firm’s asset management platform. In addition, Dean serves as lead portfolio manager for Middlefield’s real estate strategies and its Exchange-listed fund in London Stock Exchange and other parts of Europe.
Under Dean’s leadership, MIDDLEFIELD® has significantly expanded its global client base and grown its assets under management. Notably, the firm launched its first London Stock Exchange-listed fund in 2006 and, in 2025, completed an industry-first conversion of that fund from an investment trust to an exchange-traded fund (ETF) in Europe.
Dean holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is a frequent speaker at investment conferences and seminars and is regularly sought out by media in both Canada and Europe for his insights on global markets.
