Shane Obata is a Portfolio Manager at Middlefield, where he is responsible for covering global equities across the firm’s investment funds. In this role, he focuses on identifying high-quality investment opportunities, with an emphasis on innovation and technology-driven sectors across global markets.
Prior to joining MIDDLEFIELD® in 2018, Shane was a member of Richardson GMP’s asset management team, where he gained experience in portfolio management and investment research.
Shane holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and a Master of Finance from Wilfrid Laurier University, where he graduated with the gold medal for academic excellence.
He brings a differentiated investment approach that combines rigorous fundamental analysis with quantitative techniques, enabling a disciplined and data-driven evaluation of opportunities across global markets.
