Middlefield Group® is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles B. Young to the IRC, effective March 16, 2012, as outlined in National Instrument 81-107. In accordance with the mandate established, the IRC oversees each of the investment funds managed by MIDDLEFIELD®. The members of the IRC are George S. Dembroski, H. Roger Garland, Bernard I. Ghert (Chair) and Edward V. Jackson.

George S. Dembroski
George S. Dembroski was Vice Chairman of RBC Dominion Securities Limited until January 31, 1998 and holds the Chartered Accountant designation.
 
H. Roger Garland
H. Roger Garland
H. Roger Garland was Vice Chairman of Four Seasons Hotels Inc., having joined the company in 1981 as Senior Vice President, Finance. Prior to Four Seasons, he was Vice President, Corporate Banking with Citibank, N.A. in Canada and Switzerland. Mr. Garland sits on the boards of several companies and holds the Chartered Accountant designation.
     
Bernard I. Ghert
Bernard I. Ghert
Bernard I. Ghert was Chairman of Mount Sinai Hospital from 1997 to 2002, having been on the board of directors since 1974. During that time he was President of Stelworth Investments Inc. He was a director at various times of numerous organizations including Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, CT Financial, Canada Trust and Canada Trustco, and President and CEO of Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited. He is presently an advisory Director of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions. Mr. Ghert was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada in July 2002.
 
Ed Jackson
Edward V. Jackson
Edward V. Jackson was Managing Director and Co-Head of the Investment Funds Group, RBC Capital Markets until December 31, 2015 and was President and CEO of Advantage Preferred Share Trust, a TSX listed closed-end fund from 2011-2015. Mr. Jackson currently sits on the Advisory Board of Enertech Capital and is a member of the Hearing Committee of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC).
     
Formed in 1979, MIDDLEFIELD® creates and manages specialized investment products for individual and institutional investors and has assets under management of approximately $4.5 billion. Investment products include exchange-listed funds, mutual funds, private and public resource funds, real estate funds and a venture capital fund. MIDDLEFIELD® has approximately 70 employees with offices located in Calgary, Toronto, San Francisco and London, England. Clients include Canadian and international financial institutions, corporations and individuals. Services are provided in Canada primarily through Middlefield Capital Corporation and internationally through Middlefield International Limited in London, England.
