The Investment Strategist will use their understanding of financial markets and the asset management industry to help create investor communications/education/commentary materials as a liaison between Middlefield’s Marketing, Sales and Portfolio Management teams. Day-to-day, they will monitor and evaluate macro and financial market factors to develop insights on sector and portfolio companies with the aim of generating materials that will be distributed to clients and/or social media. The Investment Strategist will ensure all of their activities are in compliance with prevailing regulations and internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Create, maintain and update marketing/sales materials with compelling subject matter based on Middlefield’s portfolio positioning or strategy
- Effectively leverage portfolio management team members to obtain unique or relevant market insights
- Be a financial market content expert who can accurately inform the sales team on relevant developments
- Write perceptive market and strategy specific commentary for publication on Middlefield’s website, social media and newsletters
- Consistently improve and develop product knowledge, sales pitches and efficiencies in creating effective marketing/sales materials
- Represent Middlefield at sales events or conferences
Education/Experience
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Capital Markets knowledge and interest
- Bachelor’s degree in a field such as Commerce, Finance, Business Administration
- Minimum 5+ years asset management industry experience
